Cathedrals

St Paul's Cathedral

Interesting for kids about eight and up, good for teens
St. Paul’s is an obvious stop in London but one I recommend. When traveling in Europe, I sometimes think I can’t possibly look at another church. But St. Paul’s has a lot more to offer than your average cathedral. For a start, the interior is visually impressive, largely thanks to its massive dome. It makes you want to sit and stare up at it for a while.

Westminster Abbey

Suitable for older kids and history/royal buffs
You can usually walk inside and see the church without paying a fee; but without a tour, you lack context of the incredible events it has seen. So many famous people, from Charles Darwin to Elizabeth the 1st, are buried here. You’ll need at least an hour.
